This year has been a year for the books. There is a discussion happening right now on Reddit as to whether we should redact this year and move forward without acknowledging its existence.
Honestly, 2020 has been challenging for many, if not all, but it has also been a year of revelation. We have learned that superheroes and angels are among us, in our communities. They look just like you and I but possess superpowers that were activated to full force this year. They are called essential workers, and we have found one right here within The Sassy Writer's Community - Author Shana Danielle.
We are excited to sit down with her on Sunday, December 21stat 3 PM EST for a one-on-one about her writer's journey, but first- We decided to that thing we love best, round up a few rapid-fire questions. How did she do?
TSW: What's the best thing that happened to you this month?
SD: The best thing that happened to me this month in the book world was being the Feature Author for an event at Harriets Book Shop in Philly.
TSW: Who is the Marvel Superhero you most likely would be?
SD: Not sure. I would have to watch more about them.
TSW: What's your guilty pleasure?
SD: My guilty pleasure would be chocolate and vanilla ice cream cake with the cookie crumbles in the middle. I sometimes purchase a small one and keep it at my mom's house to eat it without the kids.
TSW: What's your favorite book, and why?
SD: My favorite book changes, but this year, it's a toss-up between Relationship Goals by Michael Todd and Relational Intelligence by Dharius Daniels. My husband and I read those books, and they have helped us tremendously in our marriage and the position of the people surrounding it.
TSW: Who is one person, living or not, with whom you'd like to spend the day?
SD: I would love to spend the day with Maya Angelou. She was always my biggest inspiration in the area of poetry.
