Fiction is the genre that introduces you to those things that you may not have thought of otherwise.
Ask any fiction author you know, or on Twitter, if you don't know any personally, the reason they chose to write fiction. We will bet you that their answer has something to do with the fact that they enjoy using their imagination.
That was a given, right?
Well, try this - ask them if they can hear their characters speak.
Aha! You weren't you ready for that? Were you?
Probably not, but then again, fiction is the genre that introduces you to those things that you may not have thought of otherwise.
"I will admit as a fiction author, whenever I am going into my writing corner, I generally express that notion to the extent of,' going to spend time with *insert MC's name of WIP,' said Noyek, author of Dear Infatuated. "I can hear the conversation between characters unfold in my head as I'm writing, but only during that time because I'm actively imagining. Beyond that, nothing. They only have the life I give them."
While that may be the case for one, others feel that not only can they hear their characters speak and listen in on the characters' conversations, but they also can 'feel their presence.'
Wow, let's just say that the character profile was one that was fully fleshed out!
